On 18th of April 2023, The OppO Foundation gathered at Parliament, joined by a number of special guests to celebrate the incredible achievements of the charity thus far.
The evening commenced with a breathtaking performance by The Kings Colour Squadron and Band of The RAF, showcasing their exceptional skills and talent, setting the stage for a night to remember.
Guests were treated to a delightful reception and dinner, buzzing with conversation and camaraderie, honouring the foundation’s dedication to supporting UK Veterans and changing perceptions.
Inspirational speeches from The Speaker himself, Chief of Air Staff Sir Mike Wigston, Kayam Iqbal founder and chairman of The OppO Foundation and a very special speech from one of last years wheelchair beneficiaries, Rob Bugden.
This was followed by the pinnacle of the evening with an emotional presentation of a specialist sports wheelchair from RGK Wheelchairs to our Special Guest Pete Lauder, RAF veteran.
As a Veterans Games Athlete and Scottish International – Wheelchair Rugby League player, Pete will now be using his personalised wheelchair in advanced sporting events, thanks to the support of generous donations from The Ambassadeurs Group and The Oppo Foundation.
Last night’s event was a testament to the power of unity and the unwavering spirit of those who have served in our UK Armed Forces. Let’s continue to raise awareness, celebrate and support the incredible work of The Oppo Foundation and all who contribute to its mission!
Special Thanks to
